FIRESTOPPING VERTICAL & HORIZONTAL PENETRATIONS

This course will outline the importance of proper firestopping design and recognizing the advantage of manufactured systems. Once the course is over the engineer will be able to recognize the importance of manufactured systems and update plumbing specifications to include manufactured, tested systems.

  • Understand what firestopping is
  • Understand the importance of firestopping in design
  • Recognize the advantages of manufactured systems vs. built-in-place systems
  • Be able to identify correctly applied systems
  • Be able to effectively update plumbing specifications

Jim LeStage

Jim currently holds the position of Business Development Manager – Commercial West at Reliance Worldwide Corporation (RWC). Building on his experience with HOLDRITE® as Specification Sales Manager, and co-inventor of the rapidly growing HOLDRITE® #117 No-hub Fitting Restraints, Jim continues to make significant contributions to RWC’s growth and success within its brands (SharkBite, HOLDRITE, Cash Acme, John Guest, Streamlabs). Prior to his tenure at HOLDRITE®, Jim worked nearly 10 years in new construction as a plumbing foreman in Southern California. He successfully completed a variety of projects including the California State University Riverside Pierce Hall Science Building, the County of Riverside Forensics Laboratory and a variety of mid-rise multi-family housing projects. Jim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from California State University San Marcos.
