PRESENTOR:
Pat Higgins, Business Development Manager: High Purity Products – East/Central U.S. Pat has over 30 years of experience with technical sales of semiconductors and products used in semiconductor manufacturing including high purity piping, valves and fittings. Currently he is in the high purity products group, which includes piping systems for semiconductor and life sciences applications. He is an excellent resource for information regarding the design of high purity water systems including material selection and advanced welding technologies. Pat has a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the University of Dallas.
AGENDA:
In this Session Pat Higgins will be covering the following items:
- Material Selection (e.g. considerations for selecting PVDF or Polypropylene material)
- Welding/Joining Options (review of Asahi’s Advanced Force Control Welding Technology and how it prevents cold welds)
- System Design Overview ( e.g. recommended flow velocities to prevent bacteria growth and other design considerations for high purity water systems)
- Component Highlights (the latest on valves, fittings, sanitary adaptors, etc.)
- Thermal Expansion (thermoplastics have a relatively high CTE which needs to be taken into account depending on the application)
